The Maharishi Schools 1.1 kW PV system was installed in January 2006 and sponsored by the Vote For Change Renewable Energy Project. This project is part of a national effort to raise awareness of the environmental impacts of our energy choices by musical artists such as Stone Gossard, Pearl Jam, REM, Bonnie Raitt, and the Dave Matthews Band. In addition to producing clean, renewable energy, Maharishi's solar power project includes a curriculum package that uses web-based, real-time data generated by the system to help teachers instruct students on the benefits of renewable energy.
