The city of Beaverton added a 1-kilowatt solar array to the roof of its Resource Center to encourage residents to make the switch to green power. The solar installation was funded through an ongoing partnership between PGE, Energy Trust of Oregon, and the Bonneville Environmental Foundation. In addition to supplying clean electricity to help offset some of the resource center’s energy use, the installation is also a valuable teaching tool, providing web-based, real-time data on renewable energy benefits.
