This project was developed by BP Alternative Energy, and is located in Pecos County, Texas, about 40 miles east of Fort Stockton. The 9000 acre Sherbino Wind project will generate enough power for 36,000 homes.

BEF uses the Green-e Climate's "Protocol for Renewable Energy" to certify this project for use in Green-e Climate certified Wind Offsets and Wind & Solar Blend Offsets, and to calculate the reduced greenhouse gas emissions caused by this project. This project passed the following additionality tests required by Protocol for Renewable Energy: (1) Performance and Technology Test, (2) Timing Test, and (3) Legal and Regulatory Test.

 

 

 
Technical Details

Equipment:
The Sherbino Mesa facility consists of 50 Vestas turbines, producing up to 3 MW each.
