In May 2008, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) funded the installation of a solar demonstration system at the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery to introduce visitors to renewable energy technology and provide them with an opportunity to explore global energy issues in an interactive, hands-on way.

The project is part of PSE’s broader effort to encourage more widespread adoption of renewable energy technology. Since 2004, PSE has partnered with BEF to identify regional schools and institutions suitable for these renewable energy demonstrations. This is the seventh project PSE and BEF have completed together.
