The Dry Creek Landfill Gas-to-Energy project was developed by parent company Rogue Disposal and Recylcling, Inc. Due to its relatively small size, Dry Creek Landfill only recently reached the threshold of gas production required for gas-to-energy projects, in 2006. The company immediately started making plans for conversion to a waste-to-energy system (it had previously collected and flared its biogas). The project utilizes existing perforated pipes buried deep within the landfill to collect methane gas, drawing it into a central collection point to power two Cat3520 engines and generator combinations that in turn generate electricity that feeds into PacifiCorp's grid system. It is estimated that the Dry Creek Landfill Gas project produces continual power for an estimated 3,000 homes.
