"Thanks to the support of Clark’s Green Lights customers, we have installed a project that will generate clean, renewable power right here in Vancouver. The fact that the revenues from this system will be used to support future projects is an added bonus."

The 2.1-kW roof-mounted PV installation at Columbia Vista provides power to the Company’s mill. This demonstration project is a direct result of the success of Clark Public Utilities' (CPU) green power program, Green Lights. The solar electric system was funded by revenues from this voluntary program, which allows utility customers to purchase non-polluting, renewable energy supplied by BEF. Designed to demonstrate the viability of renewable resources right here in urban areas of the Pacific Northwest, this installation is the first in a series of local reinvestment projects made possible by the generous support of Green Lights customers, such as Columbia Vista Corporation.

The PV system will generate approximately 2,600 kilowatt-hours of pollution-free electricity per year. The Green Tags created by the installation will be included in CPU’s Green Lights product. Revenues from the sale of this renewable electricity will be used to purchase more renewable energy and to fund more demonstration projects.
