"Our goal from the early stages of the Brewery Blocks Development was to have true design-integrated solar in one of our structures. Thanks to the Bonneville Environmental Foundation and our many other partners, we worked through all the obstacles and succeeded. We're very proud to have contributed the first such building - truly the solar landmark we all hoped for - to Portland's downtown."

- Dennis Wilde, Senior Project Manager, Gerding/Edlen Development

The most striking of the many state-of-the art green features on and within a LEED-certified, ten-story office tower located in downtown Portland, Oregon, are the electricity-generating solar panels integrated into the building design, specifically into the spandrel level (between each level of windows) in the south façade.  Situated in what was formerly the Blitz-Weinhard Brewery and developed by Gerding/Edlen, the Portland Brewery Blocks is home to one of the largest photovoltaic arrays in the Northwest.

Today, Portland Brewery Blocks is professionally managed by Cushman & Wakefield of Oregon, Inc.

An interactive kiosk was installed in the lobby of the Portland Brewery Blocks in August of 2006. Click here to see the flash views from this on-site kiosk.
