Real Time Data - Solar Ashland

Solar Ashland was BEF's first renewable energy project, its first community solar project, and at the time it began operating, the largest solar power plant in the Pacific Northwest. The project was a collaborative effort by the City of Ashland, BEF, BPA, the State of Oregon, and Avista Energy, along with the citizens of Ashland who subscribed to the project, and two local solar hosts: Southern Oregon University and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. The output from 10 kW is sold locally by Ashland's municipal utility to local subscribers. Fifteen kilowatts of output are taken into BPA's grid for resale as green power. The remaining 5 kW is delivered to the grid as generic power, with the Green Tags sold by BEF. Ashland's sales have since supported expansions of this distributed solar system.
