PROJECT DEVELOPER & OWNER: Georgia-Pacific
ONLINE DATE: March 2007
CAPACITY: 21.5-Megawatts (MW)
PROJECT TYPE: Biomass Energy
Located in Toledo, Oregon, Georgia-Pacific’s largest energy source is biomass – wood fiber, bark and other organic materials created as a by-product of manufacturing their paper products. Energy generated from the biomass facility is used to power its manufacturing facilities, decreasing the intensity of purchased energy (non-biomass) and associated greenhouse gas emissions in its operations.
