50 Great States 50 Great Companies: Montana and Big Sky Brewing Company
Montana has more to offer than just big sky...they've got some damn good beer too!In the last 15 years, Big Sky Brewing has become the largest brewing company in the state of Montana. And they take that title seriously, making the best beer possible and relying on local water sources. Water laws in the Western US allow property owners to take a certain amount of water from the water sources, however this has resulted in a statewide crisis — over 4,000 miles of streams have either dried up or have minimal water flow.
