BEF strives to promote innovation in project finance and design, and to increase the visibility of clean, renewable, distributed energy generation technologies through education and community outreach. BEF works with a variety of funding partners to reach our goals.
BEF does not fund grants for private homes or buildings. BEF actively funds grants for schools through our Solar 4R Schools program.
BEF also considers funding highly visible and exceptionally innovative projects for community buildings that are well used by their constituent communities. These projects may include such facilities as libraries, recreation centers, civic centers, town halls and environmental learning centers.

Community Projects
BEF is currently updating our review criteria for Community Projects. In the meantime, please read the Solar 4R Schools materials and if your community project is highly visible and exceptionally innovative, please submit the Solar 4R Schools application to be considered for funding.
