The GreenShipping.com website calculates a shipment’s carbon footprint based on specific weight, distance and route information, and empowers businesses to offset the shipping footprint with the click of a mouse. The Association of Green Property Owners and Managers (AGPOM) helps property owners and managers realize the value of environmentally friendly pursuits while offering incentives to stimulate participation. AGPOM members can green their insurance premiums through Mainstay Insurance Group and BEF.
Mainstay uses a portion of their revenue to purchase RECs from BEF on behalf of companies that are buying insurance through the AGPOM Insurance Program. Companies can also purchase additional RECs at a discounted price from BEF, which can then be used to apply for up to six of the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED points.
