Job Title: Outside Sales Representative

SUMMARY
Responsible for generating new sales activities in assigned business segments or regions. Manage quality and consistency of BEF product, brand and service to outside sales opportunities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Present and sell BEF products and services to new potential clients.
- Responsible to meet sales goals.
- Develop and prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific potential clients and to project the number of contacts to be made.
- Identify new sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
- Drive deeper sales opportunities with BEF’s value-add activities to clients.
- Prepare presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
- Collaborate with BEF marketing staff to develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
- Establish and maintain potential client relationships.
- Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through client activity to appropriate company staff.
- Coordinate company staff (such as marketing, procurement, and admin) to accomplish the work required to close sales.
- Other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in events such as seminars, trade shows, and client-driven outreach opportunities.
- Provide on-the-job training to new sales employees.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Basic computer skills required, MS Office proficient.
- Three to five years previous sales experience. Plus if experience is in carbon offset or renewable energy markets.
- Proven ability to meet sales goals.
- Basic understanding of environmental attributes markets.
- Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to develop and deliver presentations. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques.
- Ability to self-motivate and strong attention to detail including the technical aspects of carbon offsets.
- Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive image of BEF to the public.
- Work requires regular travel to meet with potential clients, and to events.
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and regular overnight travel.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires regular overnight travel and occasional weekend and/or evening work.
